User Manual - English, German, Italian (Quark 6.1, PC)

This User Manual was designed in Quark Passport 6.1 on PC. The original English content was translated into German and Italian. The layout was pretty straightforward making this a fairly simple multilingual-dtp project.

Informational trifold designed by EffectiveDTP based on client specifications. The design was done with InDesign CS2 on Mac platform. We received the English original in MS Word, and then carried out the multilingual desktop-publishing into 10 languages. Displayed below are samples for French, Spanish, Greek and Chinese.

Foldout brochure - English-Spanish (InDesign on Mac)

Promotional foldout 8/2 brochure. The Spanish translation was laid out using InDesign on Mac.

Fold-out trifold (InDesign CS Mac)

Trifold project, Health-Insurance related. Working from an English document, our Effective Translations team translated the content into Spanish. The desktop publishing focused on text flow, handling of language overspill, elimination of widows and orphans and of course making the final product match the original in look & feel.

Catalog - English-Spanish (Quark, Mac)

This catalog came in English with a corresponding translation in MS Word. Text was poured in and laid out. It required quite a few layout adjustments to compensate for language length differences during the desktop publishing phase.

User handbook (InDesign Project)

InDesign Project. Two 2-on-1 sheets. The original was an English document, translated into FIGS (French, Italian, German and Spanish) and sent in Word format (.doc). We then placed it into the original layout correcting language spillover, addressing orphans and widows and ensuring the content fit correctly and matched the original.
